We're being respected all over the world. The Panama Canal is a disgrace what took place at the Panama Canal. Jimmy Carter gave it to them for one dollar and they were supposed to treat us well. I thought it was a terrible thing to do. It was the most expensive structure ever built in the history of our country relatively. It would be the equivalent of substantially over a trillion dollars today [It actually cost $375 million, about $12 billion in current dollars]. We lost 38,000 people. Think of it. Thirty eight thousand people they died from malaria, mosquitoes [Around 5,800 people died during the US effort to build the canal, with another 20,000 during the previous French effort. Only around 350 were from the US though, with most of the rest being laborers from the Carribean.] They paid people 5 times more to take the job. Many of those people died. We gave it away for a dollar [There was no dollar exchanged. The US just gave it back to them]. But the deal was that they have to treat us fairly. They don't treat us fairly. They charge more for our ships than they charge for ships of other countries. They charge more for our navy than they charge for navies of other countries [Neither of these claims are true. By treaty they have to charge the same. The fares are quite public and could be looked up online. Not a single ship has ever complained they were discriminated against]. They laugh at us because they think we're stupid, but we're not stupid anymore. So the Panama Canal is under discussion with them right now [Panama has repeatedly said the status of the canal is not up for discussion]. They violated every aspect of the agreement and they morally violated it also. And they want our help because it's leaking and not in good repair [I have no idea where he came up with this]. And they want us to give them $3 billion to help fix it [or this]. I said, "Well why don't you get the money from China, because China has basically taken it over." China is at both ends of the Panama Canal [A Hong Kong company has a contract to administer 2 ports in Panama, one on the Caribbean and one on the Pacific. They are not part of the canal]. China is running the Panama Canal [No, they are not] . And they come to see this Biden. This guy who should have never even been allowed to run for president. Of course she shouldn't have either. Because that never happened. But there had to be two people not one. But they want $3 billion to fix the Panama Canal that is run by China [No, it still isn't] and makes a lot of money [sic] China. One of the most profitable structures ever built because you have ships lined up back to Florida frankly and they just keep going on through, the numbers are staggering half a million to a million dollars per ship and they took it away from us, meaning we gave it to them for a dollar. But not going to happen. What they've done to us. They've charged us. They have overcharged our ships, overcharged our navy and when they need repair money they come to the United States to give it up, we get nothing. Those days are over.
