Eg, Republicans haven't had 60 in the Senate since 1911.Wicketywackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07261407121978995986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10215785.post-29166604929532651172011-10-27T20:42:14.883-07:002011-10-27T20:42:14.883-07:00Not saying it is constitutionally illegal, but the...Not saying it is constitutionally illegal, but there is a difference between merely promoting a theory, and using the force of arms to compel others to use their resources to implement it for you.

I am not saying that government funds should never be used for something other than public goods, but that moral threshold should necessarily be high.James B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01475924582753322002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10215785.post-8791772703465489792011-10-27T20:22:33.521-07:002011-10-27T20:22:33.521-07:00One man's "confiscation" is another ...One man's "confiscation" is another man's "16th Amendment to the United States Constitution". If you mean something like the Chicago or Austrian School, yes it does face many of the same limitations. There is a reason it is called the "dismal science". Free market economists, however, don't promote the widespread confiscation of other people's wealth to use in their economic experiments though. They, for the most part, are not so arrogant to think that they know better than millions of individuals how to run their affairs.James B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01475924582753322002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10215785.post-15623530815671459522011-10-27T14:44:02.354-07:002011-10-27T14:44:02.354-07:00And tell me, when the output gap is clearly over $...And tell me, when the output gap is clearly over $2 trillion, and a stimulus is put in place (in which 33% is tax cuts to try and win unwinnable Republican votes) that's only $787 billion, what do you think will happen?

Exactly what did happen, that's what.Wicketywackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07261407121978995986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10215785.post-69729067316711090772011-10-27T14:41:49.408-07:002011-10-27T14:41:49.408-07:00By that logic, you could say libertarianism is unf...By that logic, you could say libertarianism is unfalsifiable too: if the economy collapses because protections put in place in the 30s have been rolled back over the last few decades, libertarians say it collapsed because *not enough* protections had been rolled back.
